#MixedRealities :(Case Study) COVID-19 With Augment Reality & Virtual Augmented

Since the novel Coronavirus pneumonia outbreak, the supporting role of emerging technologies has become increasingly prominent, playing an important role in epidemic prevention. As a new generation of information technologies, virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) are playing an active role in telemedicine, remote inspection, contactless temperature measurement, online business display and extensive entertainment needs.

What is the impact on the AR and VR industry after coVID-19?

AR can also be used to help assist medical professionals by providing highly efficient and interactive training methods that can streamline the process of learning new equipment and other necessary procedures. This is critical when experienced staff are unwell and replacements need to be trained as quickly as possible.

According to a 2019 study on the state of trends in industrial AR, it is estimated that 68% of companies plan to have AR in production within 12 months. However, the study predates the COVID-19 outbreak, which will require adjustments to many market forecasts.

It is important to note that not all AR activities require a futuristic head-up display. Where hands-free operations are not required, simpler but more common devices can act as AR interfaces. In the BCG/PTC study, 62% of respondents said they provided AR on smartphones and 55% on tablets, respectively.
